GILLES MAILLET
Graduate of Essec business school in Paris, Gilles Maillet began his career in various positions of marketing and sales organizations at international consumer goods companies, leading to the position of Marketing and Sales Director Europe of a Melitta-Johnson JV.
He entered FDJ in 2010 to lead corporate projects for the Management of the company and was promoted as Sales Director in 2012, driving the successful restructuring plan of FDJ field sales organization.
He was appointed as Director of Sport integrity in 2017, marking both FDJ’s commitment to promote sport values and Maillet’s personal commitment in sport – he is a member of the Paris region tennis league Management Committee-.
Maillet represents FDJ at the French National Platform against the manipulation of sport competitions as well as on the ULIS Executive Committee.
STÉPHANE FRASER
Stéphane Fraser joined Loto-Québec in 2001 and since then, has been in charge of several activities related to the financial and administrative sector of the organization. Member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés (CPA), Fraser brings with him over thirty years of experience with integrated financial systems and with implementing and supervising financial processes and controls.
In his current position of Loto-Québec’s Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Gaming Establishments, he is responsible for the Office of the Executive Vice-President and the operation of the lottery’s gaming establishments dedicated to managing network bingo, Kinzo, sports betting and Québec’s network of video lottery terminals.
Having graduated in accounting from the Université du Québec Trois Rivères, Fraser also serves as expert advisor to Loto-Québec for the sector’s products and establishments.
CHEE WENG LAM
Mr. Lam Chee Weng, 54, is a seasoned professional of more than 30 years of work experience. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Pools, a non-profit state-owned lottery, sports betting and horse wagering subsidiary of the Totalisator Board, a statutory board under the Ministry of Finance, Singapore, with annual collections exceeding S$10 billion. Prior to that he was the Chief Financial Officer and his portfolio included finance, procurement, prize payments operations, product management, draw operations, legal and company secretarial, facilities management and security.
He has vast commercial experience working in Public-Listed Companies and multinational companies with coverage across Asia Pacific. Notably he served as the Group Chief Financial Officer for Eu Yan Sang International Limited, a company previously listed on the mainboard of the Singapore Exchange. An auditor by training, he started his finance career with KPMG in 1992 and holds professional qualifications with CA Singapore, ACCA UK, CPA Australia, CA Malaysia, and CFA Institute USA. In addition, he has an MBA from RMIT University, Australia. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program and International Directors Program with INSEAD and a member of its alumni.
Mr. Lam also serves as an EXCO member of the Asia Pacific Lottery Association, Co-Chair for the Responsible Gaming Forum in Singapore. On the personal front, Mr. Lam is married with 3 children.
JENS NIELSEN
Jens is Sports betting Director at Danske Spil. Working to safeguard the integrity of sports and striving to protect sports betting consumers and operators from the destructive effects of matchfixing has been a big motivational part of Jens' work for the last 15 years – and continues to be so.
Since initiating and taking part in GLMS' first meetings with UEFA, FIFA and the IOC in 2005-2006 in order to establish MOUs, he has participated in the lotteries’ contribution towards safeguarding sports integrity. Internally among lotteries, he has focused on raising awareness of the threats from matchfixing for both consumers and Danske Spil's operations, and to the advantages of working together to combat it and to protect ourselves.
Jens has built relationships with countless colleagues among lotteries’ sports betting departments across the world.
Jens continues to dedicate his efforts within the Executive Committee to helping move GLMS forward in the important years ahead.
YOUNES EL MECHRAF
Younes El Mechrafi, born in 1965 in Rabat, holds a master’s degree in Computer Science Applied to Business Management (MIAGE) and a diploma of Higher Specialized Studies (DESS) in Computer Engineering from Université de Lille in France.
He began his career as a professor and researcher within a unit of the National Scientific Research Council (CNRS) at Université de Valenciennes in France.
Back in Morocco, he was appointed General Manager of SOMAV, a company operating in the agro-industry field. Then, he founded CONCIS, a computer engineering services company, based in Rabat, which counts among its customers important state prescribers such as the Ministry of Finance and the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces.
In 2003, Younes El Mechrafi was appointed Special Advisor to the Minister of Justice in charge of new technologies and modernization. The e-Justice project received the Imtiaz prize, a distinction awarded to the most performing public administrations in the e-Government program.
In 2006, he held the position of General Manager of an IT services company, Archos Conseil, a subsidiary of ONA group, the first Moroccan private group.
Since 16 November 2009, Younes El Mechrafi is the CEO of la Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports (MDJS), a state lottery that operates Sports Betting and finances the Moroccan sports.
Since March 2014, he is General Secretary of the African Lotteries Association (ALA) and has been reelected in 2016.
He is elected member of the World Lottery Association’s executive committee since June 2014.
Since January 2015 he is elected member of the GLMS ExCo (re-elected in 2017 and 2019)
CHRIS LO
Chris is a business leader with almost 20 years of experience in sports betting, sports integrity, product development and transformation. He has a solid track record of delivering outstanding business results.
Currently, Chris is the Head of Trading with the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), where he leads culturally diverse teams in sports trading operations, sports integrity, marketing, and quant teams in Hong Kong and Mainland China. He also serves as the lead advisor to betting and lottery operator partners across Asia. He provides advice and consultancy on business strategy, product development, customer management, people development, and technology.
Prior to joining the HKJC, Chris had Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) experience in financial advisory and asset management in Asia.
ALEŠ VESELY
Aleš Veselý joined Sazka a.s. Czech Rep. in 2013 as Marketing Director, served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer for three years and was appointed CEO of Sazka a.s. in 2021.
Sazka has shaped the lottery market for more than 65 years and is the biggest and strongest lottery brand in the Czech Republic. Sazka belongs to the fastest growing lottery company in the EU, offering full gaming portfolio incl. igaming and sports betting.
Aleš's main task has been the transformation of Sazka into a customer oriented and modern lottery brand. With his team, he is strengthening the transition of the traditional Czech lottery leader into a modern, truly digital, and technology driven company. Last but not least, his goal is to continue with stable growth and profiling of Sazka as a leader in a strong competitive environment.
Prior to joining Sazka, Aleš worked for more than 15 years in the telecommunications industry, most recently as Director of Marketing and Product at Telefonica O2. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at UJEP in Ústí nad Labem and Project Management at George Washington University.
LEMENG WANG
Ms.Wang has more than 20 years’ working experience in the sports and sports betting industries, and holds a PhD in Sports Humanities and Social Sciences from the Beijing Sport University. She has a deep understanding and unique insights into the market management principles of sports betting. She places great importance on ensuring fairness and transparency in the market to ensure the long-term stability and sustainable development of sports betting industry in China.
She joined China Sports Lottery Administration Centre(CSLAC)in 2009, worked in Strategic Development Department, Lottery of Responsibility Management Department, and Sports Betting Management Department. She was appointed as director of sports betting Dept. in 2019 and Board Director of China Sports Lottery Operation Co., Ltd(CSLO), a subsidiary company of CSLAC, in 2022. Currently, her responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing plans and implementation strategies for sports betting, managing the match operation and risk management, implementing marketing and promotion and organizing market and customer research.
She also worked for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in IOC Television and Marketing Services SA. Beijing Office and Shanghai F1 in Shanghai International Circuit Co., Ltd. before 2009.
LUDOVICO CALVI
In June 2015 Ludovico Calvi became a Member of the ULIS Executive Committee, and was subsequently elected President in June 2017. Already long involved in the industry, he has been a member of the American Gaming Association, Sport Betting Task Force, since May 2015. From 2006 to 2016, Calvi was Head of Betting and since 2009, CEO of Lottomatica Betting Ltd. From May 2013 he was Vice President, Product Marketing Betting at GTECH Plc and from April 2015 until August 2017, held the position of Senior Vice President Global Product Marketing Betting at IGT. Earlier in his career, he worked for Sisal (Italy) and William HILL (UK).
