ULIS to participate at the meeting of the Follow-up Committee of the Macolin Convention

ULIS is dedicated to helping lotteries protect the integrity of sports competitions and ensure the credibility and reputation of the lottery and betting sectors, through the services we provide and our global network of diverse expertise.

As the only betting monitoring organization with observer statutes on the Follow-up Committee of the Macolin Convention, ULIS will participate in the 9th meeting of the Committee on October 7th, in Porto, Portugal. The Macolin Committee has been set up to oversee and monitor the implementation of the Convention by its States Parties.

The day after the committee meeting, Porto will also host the Conference for the Macolin Convention: 10 years on, challenges and perspectives. This event, taking place on October 8th, is opened to all members of the World Lottery Association (WLA). The conference is organized with the support of the ACT cooperation project “Addressing Competitions Manipulation Together”.

“Our services also assist the efforts of a broader community of stakeholders, including sports entities, national gambling bodies, law enforcement agencies and intergovernmental bodies, who are all committed to combating sports competition manipulation and illegal gambling”, said Esposito, ULIS General Secretary who will attend both events.

10 years of the Macolin Convention:

Attendees of the 10 years Conference from the international sports, sports betting operators and lottery world involved in the global effort to combat match-fixing and illegal sports betting will discuss the work achieved over the past decade, discuss key issues, and see how best to advance their efforts.

Other participants will include members of the Macolin Convention Follow-up Committee, law enforcement, gambling regulators, academia, and legal representatives.
