At the General Meeting of the organization held in Vancouver on the 18 October 2022, members unanimously decided to approve the new name and brand identity of the association that is now called United Lotteries for Integrity in Sport (ULIS).
While the new name better communicates what the association is and stands for, the full rebranding reflects the significant transformation taking place in its activities which is linked to a new positioning and strategy that has evolved from the initial monitoring to a complete global ecosystem of services offered. These range from education, training and prevention programs, to knowledge building, intelligence studies and stakeholder influence management.
GLMS President, Ludovico Calvi said that “This is a fantastic achievement that will promote and give a clear understanding of our services and products to the different audiences with whom we interact. ULIS, as a new branding design, conveys a powerful message that the lottery world is united to safeguard the integrity of sport competitions. The new identity is a result of a thoughtfully constructed strategy that is being implemented by the General Secretary Luca Esposito.”
ULIS leadership is embarking on an ambitious plan to change and upgrade the scope of its services and the way lotteries, sport organizations, regulatory or law enforcement agencies perceive the association. This was confirmed by a survey among the lottery members which revealed that the name “GLMS” no longer corresponded to their common understanding, as it is strongly associated only with monitoring and detection services. Members welcomed and integrated the expansion of GLMS services in the areas of education, training, networking, events and knowledge building.
The new identity has a dynamic look and feel, is memorable and meaningful to all stakeholders. The acronym “ULIS” articulates a clear and differentiating proposition for united lotteries in the continuing mission of ensuring the integrity in sports in a global, non-profit, multi-stakeholder network.
ULIS is a non-profit multi-stakeholder global network that supports lotteries in their mission to ensure integrity in sports. Its headquarters is based in Lausanne and it has operational hubs in Hong Kong, Copenhagen and Montreal. We offer a complete range of preventive (education and training) and supportive ecosystem of services (monitoring, detection, reporting, stakeholder & law enforcement collaboration) that are lottery savvy. Licensed State Lotteries, intergovernmental bodies, sports organizations, law enforcement authorities and regulators can all seamlessly collaborate and exchange information under one roof.
