- ULIS supported the real-time integrity monitoring of all 104 tournament matches as a member of the FIFA Integrity Task Force
- Collaboration reinforces the value of state lotteries' mutualised betting-monitoring within a coordinated, multi-stakeholder framework
The United Lotteries for Integrity in Sports (ULIS) has concluded its contribution to the FIFA Integrity Task Force for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, having supported the real-time monitoring of betting markets and on-field activity across all 104 matches of the tournament.
As a member of the Task Force, established by FIFA to safeguard its competitions against match manipulation-related threats, ULIS activated its ULIS Monitoring and Intelligence Group (UMIG) at the service of the tournament. Throughout the competition, our global network of lotteries contributed to the monitoring and intelligence, feeding into the centralised data collection coordinated by FIFA. Based on the information collected and analysed throughout the competition, the Task Force identified no suspicious betting activity or indications of match manipulation.
The Task Force brought together a broad and complementary range of stakeholders, each contributing their specific expertise: FIFA and its confederations, national football associations of the host countries, law enforcement and judicial authorities, intergovernmental and international organisations, national platforms, and betting-monitoring, integrity and data organisations, including, alongside other independent experts.
“The FIFA Integrity Task Force provided a strong framework during the FIFA World Cup 2026 for sharing intelligence, assessing potential concerns and coordinating a timely response,” said Liam Rich, FIFA’s Senior Integrity Manager. “We thank all Task Force members for their expertise and commitment during the competition and we look forward to building on this collaboration at future FIFA tournaments.”
ULIS remains committed to working alongside FIFA and its fellow Task Force members to safeguard upcoming competitions, including FIFA's youth tournaments later this year and the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027™. More broadly, ULIS will continue to strengthen the collective efforts of its members and partners in the global fight against the manipulation of sports competitions, acting as a platform for sharing information, best practices and experience across the sports integrity community.
