Our latest success in the fight against competition manipulation, occurred in Peru, where the leading sports betting operator and ULIS lottery member La Tinka S.A, blocked payments on bets, from a highly suspicious match. Following this move, three complaints were filed against La Tinka, who sought our help. We issued an integrity report on the match in question, which confirmed a high level of integrity issues, based on data evidence from our monitoring platform and international network of members and partners.
The ULIS report was key to the decision taken by Indecopi, the National Consumer Protection Authority in Peru, to reject all complaints against La Tinka.
Case chronology:
06 July 2022: La Tinka noticed a significant amount of money, bet on a match, coming from approximately 20 stores. Given the high degree of suspiciousness of competition manipulation, a couple of minutes before the match finished, it decided to block payments for all bets on the match.
The same day La Tinka contacted ULIS to ask for assistance in the case
ULIS activated its network to request additional information from members and partners on the match
La Tinka refunded clients their money, initially placed on bets for the match
Three complaints were filed against La Tinka for non-payment of betting on the suspicious match
15 July 2022: ULIS issued an integrity report containing extensive analysis of different aspects of the match (pre-match odds movement, in-play odds movement, gameplay analysis, member information, GIBG, etc.).
5 April 2023: La Tinka informed ULIS that the complaints against La Tinka non-payments on a highly suspicious competition were rejected by Indecopi, the National Consumer Protection Authority in Peru. The key argument used by Indecopi to support its decision was the integrity report issued by ULIS.
